Over the last few years the number of traffic accidents on Bridge Road has decreased significantly. According to the statistics that we have in hand only six accidents took place in 2000. The number of accidents is even lower than in 1991 when the road wasn't in much use.

In 1992 due to the closure of a nearby road Bridge Road became busy and a lot of accidents resulted. To bring down on the accident rate the local government moved the bus-stop 100 yards away from where it had been and reduced traffic accidents markedly significantly. In the next four years the accident rate remained more or less constant at the same level today.

Then from 1998 onwards the local authorities placed no parking no Right Turn and no crossing signs along the roadside. All of this has been shown to have a great effect on the reduction of the number of accidents.
